Our Story
Like so many of you, we are so gutted by the situation that’s unfolding.
Watching COVID-19 ravage our New York City communities, witnessing food and supply shortages at grocery stores, and wanting to do something that could help our local neighborhood restaurants remain afloat during these trying times: Tabletop Produce was born.
Wine or beer sounded like a smart thing to have on hand while riding out a shelter-in-place. Unfortunately the nearest grocery store was still 10 blocks away and the last we visited, was swarming with crowds of people.
We thought, “Wouldn’t it be nice if we could just run out and buy a few bottles off from the Italian restaurant next door?” It seemed like a win-win: we loved their wine offering having ordered it many times and it would be much easier and quicker than going to the grocery store and the restaurant could earn some extra revenue on stock/inventory that they otherwise wouldn’t be able to use, sell and/or deliver to customers.
Tabletop Produce is committed to helping restaurants off-load extra inventory stock to local residents who want fast, easy, convenient, and affordable access to fresh and bulk foods.
